The ecoTwollar "green thank-you" token

way cool greenbackEcoTwollar is part of a grassroots acknowledgment system of Twollar with a disctinct ecological bent. It weaves micro-streams of innovative resource saving in a social network. Find tips on how to use ecotwollars.

The Launch
The system was launched in early 2009. It is designed to be accessible, fun and easy to use. And the best part: any twitterer "tweep" has 100 tokens automatically and free...

How it Works...
This green token only worth something if you get more from someone else or you give yours away to others...Tokens given away will end up with Twollar supported charities. When Twitter businesses or individuals supporting those charities buy those tokens for real money they get recirculated as twollars and you get the chance to be awarded again with the distinction of the #ecotwollar tag. But there is a slight twist, as it is not called eco-Twollar for nothing.

There is no set value or exchange rate, and for a good reason:

By deciding whom you give it and why, you get a chance to define the eco value of what you know someone else done.

Look at the main "transaction" page to see the words to use and how here:
http://bit.ly/ecoTw You find a field for a "because" statement. Ideally, you will include some hashtags like "#saving, #recycling" etc and the resource you know was saved like "#plastic, #freshwater, #CO2" and others.

The best way to give away your token...?

It is for something already done that saved,  preserved or recycled a something. It is also important that other tweeps can also verify this, so ask for picture, video, google map location - any or all.
